Description

Theology calls the three divine virtues faith, hope and charity. These virtues do not come from man's own strength, they are given to him by God and infused by Him through the Holy Spirit. Faith is a basic attitude of human life. It is a way of giving a new meaning to what we do and live. Faith does not mean immediately understanding what has happened, but accepting it in the heart, moving it from one side to the other until at some point one discovers its full meaning. Hope is the virtue of man who is still on the way, who does not yet have everything he yearns for. In hope man approaches what he hopes for and desires. Charity does not refer only to love between man and woman. It refers to much more: to love for one's neighbor and for God and to love for ourselves. This love is the goal of spiritual longing, it is the summit toward which faith and hope aim.
